california poppy skirt

More poofy skirts!
This once is made of happy orange corduroy and pretty tulle. This skirt is so pretty, yet the corduroy totally makes it a little more casual. I like that the photo has it styled for day-to-day wear. See you can wear poofy skirts if you’re not Carrie Bradshaw.
Anna Blues has just enough […]

something new: hammertime pants

Angela Johnson just released her new fall line and these hammertime pants are part of it.
OK, they’re a little tricky. They’re kinda slouchy and they could look terrible. But they could also be awesome. Slim shirt, something that’ll work out with slouchy stuff.
$100
Be brave. Get the hammertime pants.

wrap skirt and poncho

image:fofolle
This pretty little wrap skirt is also a poncho, made out of red and black cotton stretch knit.
I love how simple it is. It comes in plain red and black, too.
In medium and medium large, $90
Get it at fofolle’s shop

custom wide leg jeans

Neurasthenia makes leggings on etsy, which is awesome. But I put the leggings on another day because you have to see these jeans. They’re custom made, so every size can get in on the action (I hate how plus size ladies get lost in the indie world sometimes).
Wide leg, with total retry styling, these jeans […]

fashion is art: owl jumper

(image: stars and infinite darkness)
OK, I would not wear this. I am no Susie Bubble. I’m pretty tame style-wise, maybe a step up from how boring J. Crew is.
But if I were courageous and would not get weird looks walking in the office, I would totally get this owl jumper from New York Couture. It […]

yeti eyes skirt

(image: two see)
This is a skirt for the brave. It was part of JC de Castelbajac’s recent collection, which seemed to have focused on monsters. I think it would be great if you kept everything else simple, like a plain white tee and simple flats. It’s supposed to be very high waisted.
There are pockets behind […]

bamboo skirt

Bamboo is my favorite fabric. It’s so soft and I swear, as you wash it, it gets softer.
I was really excited to find ecochic’s shop. Here my favorite things are blended: indie style and eco style! Made in Miami, ecochic has dresses, tops and skirts made from eco-friendly materials with plenty of look. It’s not […]

creamberry jeans

It’s not all too often that I run into indie jeans. I love dresses and skirts, but on weekends, I’m more apt to slip into a tee and jeans. There are just so few non-mainstream brands out there, for good reason too. Jeans are probably hard to manufacture and the thick fabric can wreck havoc […]

urban buzz wimbledon skirt

You can choose where this skirt sits: on your hips or high waisted. I love the lace-up detail. ($160)

tetris skirt

You know which ones I hated? The L-shaped tetris pieces. They were all weird, worse than the s shaped ones. Celebrate your tetris obsession with a skirt from hissyfitoly.
Get it.
