fashion week: Preen 08 RTW
I debated whether Preen should be considered indie or not. The label has been around for ten years, but this is the stateside debut. It might make it indie here, but our friends across the pond might laugh at me.
In the end, I liked the collection too much to not show it to you.

Grey, grey is everywhere. I feel like this collection is a good mix of fabrics. There’s silk, parachute and other fabrics. It’s almost resort, I think, especially in the color palette. Besides the ever-present grey, there’s blue, khaki, soft yellow, white and a smattering of a gorgeous melon color.

In love with the elegance of this outfit. I have nothing else to say about it.

See the wrap in the siren skirt here? There was lots of draping, wrapping and twisting in Preen this season. This is real-world clothing and that’s impressive. I love couture and everything, but you can only look at clothes you’ll never wear for so long.
Boiled down: a mix of fabrics with a resort style color palette. There’s lots of fabric manipulation, which moves us past all the Grecian we’ve seen for the past few seasons. Good show for a stateside debut.
