information for designers and shop owners
I would love to feature your shop or new collection, and I’m constantly on the lookout for new sites and people to feature.
For anyone that would like to be featured on Indie Style File, here are a few tips (most apply to all bloggers):
* e-mail me. I love e-mail and I get a ton. Don’t feel slighted if it takes a while for me to respond, I try my best to get to things in the order they get to me, but time-sensitive e-mails (sales and events) can push someone in front of you.
* give me more than your URL. I love a good story and it will sell your site or line faster than a random URL in an e-mail. I also usually ask for sizes, prices, and any more info you can get me on the garments/items.
* have a newsletter. I try my best to keep up on places I’ve featured before, but my list of bookmarks is long. I often depend on newsletters and personal e-mails to keep me updated on sites.
* got a flash site? please send me images. Flash sites are gorgeous and I love them, but they’re not exactly blogger friendly. I will always take e-mailed images and they save me the time from taking a screenshot of your site.
* I love reviews! If you want to send me something to review, please e-mail me. But understand that sending an item doesn’t guarantee a good review and it may take time for me to write something thorough.
* I love contest prizes and reader discounts! I will love you forever if you can offer me either.
